We Adopted a Puppy!

In case you haven't heard the news, Max is now officially our furry baby!

On Friday night, Lorie, a very nice lady from SOAR Doggy Rescue, brought Max to our house to oversee his first meeting with Beatrice.  (I'm presuming that she also took a surreptitious look at our fence, but there was no "grand inspection".)

Beatrice, high-strung doggy that she is, was nervous at first, but she soon relaxed, and seemed happy to play with Max.  I got the impression that she was absolutely shocked to have another dog suddenly arrive.  She kept barking at Husband and I, as if to say, "Look!!! Do you see what's going on here???!!  There's another dog!!! Another dog IN THE HOUSE!!!!  How can this be???  DO YOU SEE THAT THERE'S ANOTHER DOG IN THE HOUSE????!!!"  She barked so much that Lorie finally asked, "Is she always this vocal?"  We assured her that yes, indeed she is!

When 20 or 30 minutes had passed without Max getting ripped to shreds by Beatrice, Lorie suggested that we keep Max overnight to see how it went, and call the next day to let her know what our final decision was.  We agreed, even though I think we both already knew that we wanted to keep him.

Beatrice may not have been so sure what she thought about Max, but he definitely loved her right away!  He follows her around all the time.

We had already received approval from the rental company to adopt another dog earlier in the week, so I was able to call SOAR the very next day to tell them that Max had definitely found a "furever home."
