Doggie Easter Baskets + Beatrice with her Easter Bunny

Just before Easter, I went to Hollywood Feed to buy dog food, and naturally spent ample time browsing, so as not to miss any other items that my sweet baby might need. That's when it hit me: it was absolutely necessary that I make Beatrice the dog an Easter basket. The need for doggie Easter baskets was so obvious.  How could I never have seen it before?

In my excitement, I must have been sending out strong telepathic waves, because shortly thereafter both MiddleSister and YoungestSister sent me this via Pinterest:
The source of this Pinterest-disseminated brilliance was an article entitled "How to Create the Perfect Easter Basket for Your Pet, Because Why Not?" from MarthaStewart.com.  I should have known that Martha Stewart would be way ahead of me when it came to a project as superb as pet Easter baskets.

Tragically, Beatrice did not receive a proper Easter basket this year. My parents came to visit for Easter, so I had to spend time furiously cleaning the house in a desperate attempt to disguise my slob-like existence.  That was a lot of work for a lazy person such as myself.  I was left bereft of the energy necessary for the creation of truly epic Easter baskets.

But I did not completely fail as a pet parent!  Beatrice may not have received the beautifully appointed doggie Easter basket that I had envisioned, but she did get a special Easter bunny--a large, pink Knottie Bunny, made by HuggleHounds, to be exact. It was the last one in the store; I had to made the sales associate mess up their Easter display in order to buy it.  It's very soft, has lots of different squeaky bits, and is perfect for Beatrice.

Here are a few photos of my sweet baby enjoying her new bunny:

I managed to take one photo of Beatrice in which she's actually looking at the camera--no easy feat!
Action shots of Beatrice playing with her bunny.
I foresee many more knottie animals in Beatrice's future. Just look at these adorable hedgehogs!!!

And in case that wasn't cute enough, they make a mini hedgehog, called a WeeHuggle!  THE CUTENESS IS KILLING ME!
